Mini Drupal Case Study: solarpower.thund3rbox.com
Moving into our new house got me thinking about ways to save on energy costs (going from small apartment to full house), and with the abundant amount of sunshine we get in Long Beach (and Southern California in general), I'm especially curious about solar energy.
We are just renters, so any permanent panel installation is beyond what we can do, but in my curiosity and researching solar into, especially portable solutions, I realized that I really wanted to put together an aggregate site of all the blogs I've been reading on the subject. Not only for myself, but also might be of use for others.
Thus: http://solarpower.thund3rbox.com
This is a very basic Drupal site, not even straying too far from the default Garland theme. While Drupal has a very good news/feed aggregate module built-in, I decided to experiment with the FeedAPI module. This module actually sucks the content in and creates nodes from the items in a feed, which is great for your site's SEO.
And that's basically all the site is. You'll notice I've also added Adsense keywords, and a little Flickr block for fun. Once I get my own knowledge and thoughts up to snuff on all things Solar, I plan to start generating my own content.
