In building a site for a friend, I used the opportunity to explore some new modules and tools in helping migrate date between different environments (meaning: from development to production).

Ada Lovelace Day

Ada Lovelace Day is an international day of blogging to draw attention to women excelling in technology.

I was supposed to blog about one person in particular, but I just don't have the heart or energy for writing lately, so I'll post something very general. There are of course lot's of great smart, hardworking people in technology who happen to be women.

on the verge of panic again

on the verge of panic again
my instinct is to run
i hate this
but i need the gold
i need to glamor
so i stick it through
lunch i brought is making me sick
find myself in a loop of misunderstanding and confusion
oh wait, now I remember.
give me a moment
give me a moment so the synapses fire.
my brain ain't so young as yours
takes me a while to get revved up.
and i want to drift off, and stare at you in confusion

you are ruining my concentration
you ruined our conversation
you are ruining my consternation
and that makes us very anxious.

Can someone explain the value of eBay to me?

Tagged:

I don't get eBay. Wasn't ebay at one point supposed to be a place to get a good deal? Maybe it's the stuff I search for, but ebay is overrun by people who overprice and overcharged for shipping and "handling". The only value I can see in ebay these days is to gauge what stuff is going for (albeit overpriced), especially with "completed listings".

I've had numerous instances, especially with music equipment, video games, and CD's, where I've found MUCH better deals on Craigslist, niche message boards, or Amazon.com. So what use is ebay then? I don't get it...
